i make movies on final cut pro and they have really nice camera work and images. when i burn to dvd the quality goes way down and the images become shaky and scratchy especially when the scenes involve someone/thing moving quickly. is it the blank dvds i'm using?

Nope it is not the dvds. It is the content you are burning. What happens is that when you burn it, the width and height of the vid elongates, and becomes stretched out, causing it to be pixilated. Its like getting a small picture and trying to get it bigger, but no matter what you try, the picture will show pixilization. My recommendation is that you change the settings when burning a dvd to something suitable and proportional to your tv.
