...anywhere they can go ? A Toyota RAV4 / CR-V gets about 26-28 MPG on the highway. My Toyota Corolla gets 38 to 40 mpg. I made a bet with a co-worker for $500 that on the weekend I would follow him ANYWHERE his CR-V could go. I put winter tires on the front for better dirt traction, and jacked up the suspension 1" taller (by adding rubber spacers in the springs). I won that bet, and BOY WAS HE ANGRY !!!

We went into cottage country, over rocks, he slammed down on his converter and smashed it. Me, I bent the exhaust pipe opening just rear of the muffler, but I opened that up with a hammer and pipe at home. Still, no matter where he went with his gas-guzzling CUV, I could follow him ANYWHERE.

So that begs me the question: Why spend so much money on yearly gas costs on what is basically a big tall sedan, when a much smaller and more fuel efficient car and follow them just about anywhere they can go?

He got stuck trying to go up one gravel hill, his rear tire was spinning, but my front-drive-only 2000 Corolla got up it no problem !
Please excuse my error to admit that ordinary SUVs with 4x4 will climb up a near vertical wall, leaving my Corolla in the dust for sure !

I'm not talking about TRUE 4x4 SUVs / Trucks here, I'm talking about "CUVs"; those car-based trucks that only "LOOK" like a real truck.

As for my Corolla, I have scaped the crap out of the bottom of it, dragging it over rocks and boulders on that test !
When winter and salt comes, that thing is going to RUST like crazy !

If the challenge was to carry more stuff, your friend would win. Unfortunately, most people don't use their vehicles for their intended purpose, so your statements are true, but thats what these trucklets are for.
