Okay, when I say people, I myself am included. Reason why i ask is because a friend of mine was talking about how she finds it annoying when friends make a joke about her and she feels forced to laugh because it hits her in the feels but she doesnt wanna be the black sheep, to which i said "Why feel bad about it? We're all funny people, so why not laugh at ourselves?" (although in a much more poorly worded manner) and she says that it hurts her feelings and so of course she is going to be offended. I know I am correct, because I for one find it hilarious when, for a brilliant example, every new person I meet tends to think I'm a latent/flamboyant (lol take yer pick XD) homosexual, when in reality I'm not. Not sure why I find it funny, and I know its not because I'm embarrased, but i just do. So what I'm trying to get at is this: what IS it that makes a person laugh when they are getting "roasted" (for lack of a better word)?
Lol but thats not what I mean. Like, I for one enjoy comedy to an insane level, and I also like to share it. Hence im the butt of many jokes. And the new people I meet, for instance, who think I am gay, I just find it funny because it completely contradicts my sexuality, yet I just happen to come off as a homosexual. Now, with the normal person, they'd rather be the people laughing at me than being me, and thats my question: why can't people laugh at themselves? What is it that makes it hard to do that, especially when its friends that make the comments
