Why do people gossip?? ?

So someone( I don't know who yet) told my best guy friend that I like him and now he doesn't talk to me at shill and barely texts me because he thinks I do. Why did that person do it?? Why?? She knew it was gonna ruin our friendship!
 
I ask myself that question every day some people do because they know it's going to cause harm to you and the evil. Others do it because the have no life and nothing better to do besides gossip. And others don't think their jokes over before they say it
 
Petty and trivial minded people with inferiority complex do these sort of things. How to get around it, don't react to it, its what they want. Ignore them is the best thing. Do not get emotional about it, remember, they need the attention. No reaction, no attention. Of course if it gets out of hand it can become a criminal matter of harassment.
 
Some people just have nothing better to do with their time. Explain the situation to him and from now on you know what kind of person your "friend" really is.
 
Maybe she did it BECAUSE she wanted to ruin your friendship. but how do you know it's not a guy?
But people ALWAYS gossip. No matter how old you are or where you go, people will always gossip. People do it because their lives are boring, or they are trying to gain knowledge about others or to gain something for it. Others do it just for fun. Sorry but this is just how it is.
