Why do people keep using typo errors as an internet slang, it's annoying...?

for example:

1)owns - pwns

What does "pwns" even mean, "pawn" as in pawnshop!? gosh...

My theory - somebody typo errored "owned" to "pwned", he/she accidentally typed 'p' instead of 'o'

2) wtf - ftw

What's with that?!?!???

it's just put backwards, doesn't even make any sense, gosh!

---i forgot the others, but what can you say about this??

Actually...

Actually, ftw is another slang. It is the shortened version of 'for the win'.
For example, I really love rock music. So I often post stuff like "Rock ftw!" on fb.

And I think you are right. Pwned is the corrupted, in other word, typo version of the word 'owned'. But the word 'pwned' is sometimes used even more than the original word 'owned'. That's just how Internet slang words are born. By the urge to shorten the time used to type words... By the will to make our conversation a little more interesting and fun. And just like this, even by a common typo. :)
I hope my explanation helped.
