Why do people on here complain about media bias?

What ever happened to not watching or listening to networks/shows that you don't like or that you disagree with?

Why do so many, from both sides of the political aisle feel that they need to quiet the opposition instead of letting others have their views even though they may differ?
 
The media go out of their way to claim they are unbiased yet every single day yields multiple instances of them failing to meet that standard. Note that there is a difference in news and analysis. The LSM allows bias into its so-called news and that's where thinking people have a problem.
