Why do religions like Judaism, Christianity, & Islam use hard to believe

events in create their religions? I need some help and more material on this, something to work with would be good but why do you think people use story telling and hard to believe events in creating their religions and why do people still buy into it?
I'm having a hard time answering the question, I'm not sure why people buy into it either (not trying to be offensive).
