Are we not being forced to pay for their yachts and vacation homes and their 7 cars their children's vacations and anything else they feel they need
yes welfare cost billions but so do their homes and cars and medical bills and vacation and boats and everything else they buy if you add them all together
ps .people on welfare work too they just dont get paid enough to live.
 
Lets see, would you be talking about Al Gore, John kerry, the Kennedy's, Boxer, or any other Democrat? You are aware that the richest people in congress are all liberal dems, aren't you? I guess not. Do you think any of them will share what they have with the poor or give back the tax money they took from us?
 
What they do with their money is their business. I don't like that we pay them as much as we do but there is nothing I can do to change that. Welfare on the other hand is given to people who won't work and I hate paying them.
 
We are forced to pay for those things only in so far as politicians' salaries come from tax dollars. And if you listen closely, you'll hear lots of Republicans and conservatives complain that government salaries are too high. For instance, I'd like to see the departments of Education and Agriculture, both started by Carter, shut down to save money.

But entitlement spending, which includes welfare, is by far and away the largest chunk of the federal budget. If we want to save money, we need to look at our biggest costs.

Why don't liberals do the same?
