designed to redistribute wealth?
I think I just figured it out. They want their kind of redistribution where they are the recipients and beneficiairies of others' wealth, but don't like it when its their ox being gored.
lets see as a societies' total tax revenue gets more and more regressive...and the middle class loses out and the top fat cats get to keep way way more than before....so they can lay off union workers in USA and invest in china, India, etc....and stash money in Swiss banks and tax haven caribbean sanctuaries.....gee.....I guess thats their kind of redistribution....especially if they can make sure 20 million illegals are here taking the rest of the jobs too.

Simply because it sounds bad. No matter if you are Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative, somewhere in between or none of the above: wealth redistribution sounds bad!

Because everyone feels they earned what they have. Everyone. They don't want to give it to someone else. This is really a psychological trick that works on everyone. I'm sure they vetted this phrase upon many people before putting it in their talking points.

Unfortunately, government exists in large part to redistribute wealth, people just don't like to admit that. So the people that complain about it are those that are either 1) not in touch with the reality of what government is for or 2) greedy as heck.

This question makes no sense...an example would help but I think it is just a rant.and rants are not allowed on YA.

I do not like wealth redistribution because:
1) The resources taken deprive us from their original purpose...mostly likely investment and job creation.
2) the resources taken are usually squandered on stupid stuff...
3) the resources squandered usually have less multiplier effect (economic term) and make economy worse
4) Those receiving money are worse off because they will want more and will not work as hard and now think they are entitled to this money-- other peoples money
5) The money squandered is taken from hard working folks and is a disincentive for them to work as hard.
6) The money squandered is pulled from capital markets and there is job loss or lack of investment...and is used to buy votes.. votes from folks that want something for nothing that want to be taken care of, on the dole.

The only way liberals can justify their policies is to pretend that republicans do it too, no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

Far be it for a liberal to use logic, reason or experience instead.
