Why do so many atheists in real life try to argue about religious beliefs?

Could be that they are azzholes, or maybe they just enjoy the discussion.
 
Ok, I know at least 3 atheist friends who is ALWAYS looking for an argument. One will try to debate the English teacher when she is giving an essay prompt. Why is that? Can't they live and let live?

well most of the people i knew in school argued with the teachers no matter what religious or non-religious life style they lived.
 
You sound a bit hypocritical
I've never argued with a jew or a muslim. Why?? because they don't try to push their beliefs onto us... Christians do

I only debate about Christianity when it's getting in the way of others

Like the whole Prop 8 gay marriage thing, I will NOT let that go until gays get equal rights. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't mention religion at all unless someone brought it up
 
They are filled with anger and self hate. Whenever they see someone else is happy in their faith they just charge ahead like a wild bull on the attack.
 
There are arrogant atheists who like to push their own ideals just like there are arrogant christians who do the same
 
I agree. I don't think we should generalize, but there are DEFINITELY a few (more than a few) atheists about there that will fight about absolutely everything. If you have an opinion about religion, you can bet your bottom dollar they've got a "better" one.

I know I'm gonna get a million thumbs down for this, but I could really care less. I am a straight A student. I consider myself an academic. I am faithful to God and HAPPY, FULFILLED, IN LOVE WITH THE WORLD. If I'm happy and intelligent, why the Hell am I any less "educated and enlightened" than an atheist.

Atheists are just snobs who think they know it all.

Again, sorry to generalize, but one of the idiots at the bottom brought the worst out.
