it's not it's main inspiriations are the celtic tradition of honoring the dead on the winter solstice, a christian holiday where children went door to door asking for treats in return for praying for their loved ones, guy fawkes night, and a little old lady that decided to pay off hoodlums so they wouldn't set traps for her during the depression.
but it doesn't matter because Halloween doesn't exist anymore, the extremist new age hipster parents got a hold of it and destroyed it.

If you knew the history of it, you would know that there is a Satanic component to Halloween. It was a night of revelry (which in Europe meant beer and bawds), before All Saints Day, a solemn feast day. I don't know the origins of the costumes and bugging the neighbors for candy. But you sure couldn't connect bats, spiders, ghosts, witches, vampires, skeletons, etc to anything having to do with our Lord. Which leaves only one other prime candidate, ye olde furnace room manager.
