Why do some atheists pretend to be fundamentalist Christians on the internet? lol?

Lately, on youtube and other sites, I have noticed that there are a lot of "Christian" profiles claiming to hate atheists and how they want them to die slowly etc. I suspect that those people are really atheists pretending to be Christians, because no one can be that retarded. But why do they do this? What's the point? lol

Not caring about description, but retaining to question, because I've read the bible and know Christianity better than most self-proclaimed Christians.

Since short of open confession you really don't have a secure benchmark for deciding, your suspicion " ...that those people are really atheists pretending to be Christians," is insecure.

Is, I'm afraid, not good grounds, as there is plenty of evidence that whenever you think you have reached the uttermost depths of human stupidity, some individual will demonstrate the ability(?) to go a few steps more.

VenomfangX is merely one well-known example. But a good one.

Most people on this planet feel powerless and are ashamed of their powerlessness. So they like to find whatever way they can to (anonymously) provoke any sort of strong reaction from anyone because that makes them feel powerful. Disgust is easier to elicit than respect....the people looking for respect for example tend to be one of the 60-70% of people using computer assistance to cheat on various chess websites. Its sad, i know...but thats the point.

hopefully you would think we as the people, would find better ways to promote the messages of being for or against God... rather than submit ourselves to such counterfeiting and deception.

We all long for the full truth of all things to be... so it would make sense our deeds reflect innocence and intregrity in obtaining... the Truth of All Things... afterall, I dare say... we all want the fullness of Truth to come into being

it's trolling :) sometimes it's so much fun to make your own people made. I'm Indian i made indian racist jokes and a bunch of my brown people got mad. and so atheists do the same sometimes. It's funny and humorous. What's the point to anything? lol it's a funny think that's all lol

Sometimes they are actually "retarded christians" (your words not mine)...actually, probably more often than not. Usually trolls give up after awhile.

Ergo, atheists are FULLY aware of how hateful their religion (yes.. religion.. no matter how much they deny it, it's an indisputable fact).. that chances are any troll on here MUST be an atheist !

It may be true but you would be surprised. A friend of mine from georgia on a bet pretended to be an athiest in in McDonalds in a conversation with his friends. He didn't insult religion, he just talked about how he wanted to bring his kids up with no religion. A woman yelled at him for a half hour while her husband also helped.

Well, for one thing, it is very easy to Poe as a fundie as they are easy to mock. However, it is nigh on impossible for a fundie to Poe as an atheist....they just can't do it.
