I was just curious...can exposing them to these foods earlier actually make them more susceptible to developing an allergy? I haven't given my 15 month old either yet, as my sister is allergic to both, but I was just curious as to why 2 was the perscribed age.

I dint think it will make them allergic to the food its because after 2 years old they are stronger to fight an allergic reaction and the younger they are to have a reaction the harder it is for them

i suppose it's just because those are two very common allergies, but i've heard that introducing children to common allergins can help them build up a tollerance for them. i'm not saying feed your kids peanuts or shellfish but, it's just what i've heard!

supposedly they are the main food groups that people in general are allergic to, so its not safe to introduce at an early age.

It was prescribed due to allergies. But new evidence shows that delaying foods will not stop an allergy.
