To me, raising a child is a much greater responsibility and commitment than a marriage.
I am all for gay adoption so I'm for adoption by an unmarried gay couple because of the struggle to get married as a gay couple. I'm not sure about the current law regarding gays marrying but if a gay or straight couple could marry. Why wouldn't they marry before adopting a child.
It just seems like a the proper step to take before, it gives the child (even if he/she doesn't understand yet) assurance in the stability and liability of his/her parents' relationship.
