Why do women complain about being paid lower than most men?

If a job is posted at a given rate per hour or month, and a woman and a man interview for the job. If the guy gets the job he gets the advertised amount, and if the woman gets the job, they can't reduce it because she is a woman. I can't figure out why this happens if women have the same choices as men when it comes to getting a job at the same ADVERTISED rate.

Most of the time there is a range, not one number, ex. 40-45k a year. Studies show that women get the lower number of that range but the reason for that varies depending who you ask

Many aren't advertised. And who's to say the man won't get more and/or larger raises? Sorry, but your reasoning does not make sense.
