I believe it's more cultural than anything to do with sexuality. Because not all cultures have women kiss each other on the cheek. It's just a greeting. All cultures have different ways of greeting each other
Perhaps it has more to do with their culture. In Hawaii, women kiss each other as well as male guest with a "aloha" and a kiss on the cheek. No men do not kiss other men in greeting, but they do hug each other. Why would you turn a friendly greeting into something sexual? Perhaps that is the way it is in your part of the country but it is not the way it is all over the world. =P
