In my lifetime I've seen a handful of (middle-aged) women riding cruisers. I have never seen a woman riding solo on a sport bike. What gives?
I made the distinction of middle aged women riding cruisers because I have never seen a younger woman (I guess below ~40?) riding a cruiser alone.

No_bloody_ids_available is right.
In UK you'll find that a LOT of women ride sports bikes more so than any other.

Shame is none of the answers were given by women..!!!!

AND GUYS women can ride:
Be it a hyabusa or a fully loaded HD as good (and EVEN BETTER) as us GUYS...

SO stay off the POWER crap...

TWO WHEELS is two wheels who ever rides, and give the credit where credit due....
you don't see the ladies in the ER room with broken bodies cos they lost it....! Ergo Q.E.D!!!

So now bring on the thumbs down....!

Why would an old broad ride a sport bike. There is nothing sporting about middle aged women.

They have them, but the majority of women rather cruise around in comfort than rocket around in pain.

I have seen quite a few women on sport bikes but they are few and far between. i would imagine the image that it portrays and the comfort that they get from a cruiser over a sport bike. they are easier to handle also.

I used to ride a sport bike about 20 years ago. I remember how uncomfortable it was on long bike ride, especially on my wrists. I now perfer cruisers. It's more comfortable. And plus, I no longer need to have that feeling for speed.

sports bikes are very uncomfortable to ride and require a bit of skill, cruisers are very comfortable and easy to ride, seating position, turning etc..etc..

A lot of women choose Harleys because it gives them a feeling of empowerment without demanding much from them. Cruisers have low seats, and although they are not really comfortable, they give that impression to the casual buyer in the showroom. Cruiser-riding women (indeed all cruiser riders) are an alien breed to me.

The women I know have much more sophisticated taste in motorbikes. Few of them ride actual squidware, but a lot of them are touring riders mounted on BMWs and Guzzis. A lot of them are on Monsters, SVs and Triumph triples. A couple ride Buell twins(never the Be-Last). Quite a few race dirt track and on the ice, and many are accomplished trail riders, dual sport riders and adventure tourers.

I have a good friend I ride with all the time, a woman. She says a 'standard' bike feels tippy and top-heavy to her. She has a Honda Magna and she finds it much more comfortable. Lots of women, you would think, aren't tall enough to ride a standard or a sportbike. She can ride my BMW but she prefers a cruiser.

She's also not very sporty. I love to throw the bike into curves on mountain roads. She prefers riding on the freeway. A cruiser is better for that kind of riding anyway.

But here in California where I live I see a lot of younger ladies on sportbikes. In fact I'd say they're split about half and half.

most women dont want to compete the way men do. they prefer to just be part of the social event. the slower cruisers appeal that way to them.
i have a friend whom i think could outride most boys on her triumph triple
