WHY do women's INSECURITIES cause them to "test" relationships?

I have been out with friends and snapped a picture of a random guy just to send it to my BF and try to make him jealous. I have given things back to a BF in the hopes he will say he doesn't want to end things. I have said things about other men to get a rise out of him to see how commited to me he is. I must be super insecure or so damaged by past relationships that I doubt ALL of them!! A freind said its because women are either insecure/bored/mean. So am I the only one that plays this mental game, and WHY do women's insecurities cause women to "test" relationships, if it might end up dooming them??
 
Oh no, you're definitely not the only woman (or should I say, little girl inhabiting an adult female body) who behaves this way.

You're not the only one -- but don't think for a second that this makes it right. "Other women do it too" is not a good excuse at all for what you're doing.

Just ask yourself if you would like it if a guy did things like that to you.

I'm guessing you would not. So don't do it to them.

Guys are human beings, just like you are. They have feelings, just like you do. And they shouldn't have to put up with mental games and "tests" from the very people who should be treating them with more love than anyone else in their lives.

Grow up, sister. Knock off the bullsh*t mind games. Stop acting like a little girl. Start acting like a real adult woman.

...and because you 'test' the relationship, guys see you playing games and dump you, because that's a total turn off. It shows great disrespect, and who wants that in a gf?
