the Lord of the Rings? Surely it is possible to make a fantasy novel as good if not better than the Lord of the Rings epic masterpiece of course people have attempted over the years to create a world just as big as J.R.R Tolkien's but have never succeeded. The only other books that I can think of that have ranked anywhere near as good are the Harry Potter series and the Wheel of Time series but Harry Potter is more like a watered down version of the Lord of the Rings but its obviously not epic but they are good entertaining children's books I haven't read the wheel of time series but I predict that its not as good as the Lord of the rings because its ranked below Harry Potter. But what I would truly like to know is why hasn't anyone been able to create something that is as good if not greater than J.R.R Tolkien's epic fantasy novels and what has made it stick out ever since it was published is it the extream amount detail the plot the difficult position and task Frodo was given the theme and the history in the books?
