I been reading in the news that the medicare bill was set back until late-2011 on a 21% cut. But why are doctors still complaining about money? If a typical physician makes an income of 6 figures, and still complains, what do they have that is taken out from their salary besides IRS Taxes?

If you want MD's to take Medicare and Medicaid patients then you had better pay attention. The money they make is from private pay and insurance.

The NEW, socialist health care bill is an equivalent of the (no child left behind). The 0bama adm. mandated that the states cover everyone with the health care but only gave money for the first couple of years. to pay for this it must come from the medicare and medicaid budget(paid for by the states. medicare and medicaid doesn't pay at the same rates as private pay and insurance, they pay pennies on the dollar. Doctors will not go to medical school to make 1/5th of what they did.

Doctors ARE underpaid.

They typically have already invested 8 years of schooling and 2 to 3 years of residency.

They often have school loans to pay back... and MEDICAL MALPRACTICE insurance through the roof.

That's one fear lots of SMART people have about OBAMA"CARE".

Our best and brightest will not go into MEDICINE... since they do so to help people and to invest in an education... to make their career.

NOT to be a CIVIL SERVANT.

I'd love to see a link to this story. I'm guessing one won't be forthcoming. I've never heard a doctor complain about being under paid. It's a matter of their time. They are working on patients, curing them, fixing them, etc. and Medicare doesn't pay.
Would you be ok with doing work and not getting paid?
