Why does BitTorrent says "Wasted"?

When I download a file with BitTorrent, there's a detail called "Wasted [???] KB/MB" Is that a damage for my downloaded file?

Wasted is data that is tossed out either because it hashfailed, or because it was redundant data that the client had already downloaded.

It will not affect the quality of the final download as it is data that was rejected for not being proper. In small amounts it is normal. Usually due to bits that were damaged in transition.

If there is a large amount of Wasted, that is usually due to a router mangling the data bits.
