Recently I stumbled across some videos of Roger Ebert on youtube and on almost every single video there are about 500 comments saying how he should burn in hell and he deserves cancer and whatnot. I know he did that Ryan Dunn thing but that was just sentence he said about him. Did he like rape a child or strangle a kitten or something that I don't know about?
*one sentence
Seriously, go look up Roger Ebert on youtube, it'll make you feel depressed all day once you see how low people have sunk to.

He may have said a heartless thing about Dunn's death, but everyone has had these bad slip ups at some point. The problem is that he's a celebrity and when one of them says it then people freak out when they really shouldn't. He said sorry at least. I think the only reason he's being trashed on YouTube is because of that Jackass comment. I've been watching/reading his stuff for years and I've never come across these comments about him before.

I mostly agree with Ebert on his opinions, but there have been times where I haven't. I don't hate him though. He's one of my favorite film critics and for good reason. At least Ebert justifies why he does or doesn't like a film rather than just say 'It's boring and gay' like a lot of the people in this section (Not all people, obviously).

I don't hate Roger Ebert.

People who disagree in their taste on movies can be very vitriolic. I think Ebert is great. YMMV. Other people want to kill him because he didn't like their favorite movie.

He posted a very unthoughtful comment regarding Ryan Dunn's death. .. Bam Margera quickly responded and now everyone knows that Ebert is a tool.

No, he's just a bit pompous and know-it-all which tends to rub people the wrong way.

Frankly, he is one of the very FEW critics that I actually read, because his opinions are typically very informative. Even if he doesn't LIKE as film, he will recommend it to audiences that might. Enjoyed his reviews for, literally, decades. Can't imagine why anyone would act so hateful, unless maybe they are ticked he called a flop what it was, and stepped on toes doing so!

His ratings go back like 40 years and they are all accurate. He's amazing at what he does. People are still crying about the Ryan Dunn quote??? I like Ryan Dunn but what Ebert wrote about him was the truth.
