nutrition? Moms who think they know it all either because they friggin Googled something or their "holier than thou" pediatrician recommended it....lord save us all....
I am now finding as a new mom that people just seem to fall in line when it comes to our children's care. Well I for one am not that type. Question authority and know your rights. Especially when it comes to what you put in your child's little system.
I have never discussed religion with my pediatrician so I am unsure of his level of holiness. He does have some pretty good advice that I'm willing to share to save someone else a co-pay or a bill in general.
I always say go with your gut instincts. For example, my son's pediatrician told me no solid foods before 4 months, but my son was eating every hour and screaming in hunger after every feeding at 2 months. I would give him formula until he spit a lot of it up and still he would scream in hunger even though his belly was full. I finally broke down and gave him rice cereal mixed with formula against doctor's recommendation, and I didn't feel guilty about it. It satisfied his hunger and he suffered no ill effects from it.
