Why does my AC make a strange sound like 2 sticks rubbing together when it runs?

Just coming from one vent.? It sounds like 2 corrugated metal rods being rubbed together.
 
It needs attention - take it apart and look for stuff that ain't supposed to be there - sometimes a fruit pit gets in or some small sticks - or the condenser is stuck - anyway - if it something you don't think you can handle - then call a technician to service it.
 
could be a broken register vent or the duct is lose and vibrating
