Why does my bearded dragon poop in his food dish?!?

He keeps doing it and it's gross and hard to clean up! He was sitting in his bowl and I thought maybe he was hungry so I filled it up with food but I just knew he was going to poop again! He then proceeded to kick all his food out into his sand, crawled back into his bowl and pooped. Everywhere. He knows it's gross-- I can see it in his eyes!! What is wrong with him? He just started it a few months ago and does it about 70% of the times he poops. Nasty!
 
Bearded Dragons Pooping In Food Dish

Hey, looks like no one replied to you post and I am wondering if you ever found out anything. I have two adullt Beardies that I purchased a few months ago and they just started doing the same thing. My Female (Liz) started doing it first and then my Male (Bob) started doing it too.

I want to say they are potty training themselves because they don't want to have poop all over their tank and tail and they want to make it easier to keep their home clean, BUT I don't think that is a realistic answer and I'm starting to think they are trying to tell me they don't like their food or combination of food I am giving them. So now, instead of mixing it up all the time, I am giving them one type of veggie or fruit at a time to see what happens. I also want to put two different food dishes in their for them, but I want to try this out first.

Anyway, did you find anything out?:vaccum:
 
I have a bearded Dragon that started to do the same thing, he eats all the food or kicks it out of the bowl into the sand then poops right in the bowl. Big poops too....
