Why does my Citroen C2 beep and at the same time I am unable to turn the stereo off?

This has happened a couple of time, I will start the engine and the car will beep continuously, and I will be unable to turn the radio off. When I take the keys out of the ignition the stereo and the beeping continue.

There are no warning lights on the dash but the lights on th dash stay lit.

After about 5 mins the beeping will stop. What does it mean please!!?
 
I sometimes get the same problem with my peugeot 206. I have found the only way of stopping it is to disconnect and reconnect the battery as it doesn't stop on it's own.
 
I had a citroen for a few years and they are very prone to electrical problems. Take it into a dealer straight away as it maybe something more serious than a fault
 
the realay needs 2 b reolased they r about £25 + £10 fitting
