why does my citroen saxo engine rock?

my saxo 2000 w reg 1.4 engine rocks,moves around a bit 2 much i think. it only happens when sat at traffic lights ect(ticking over) its like theres someone bouncing around in the car. no noises or stalling it seems to run well no warning lights come on and the rev counter sits niccely. any ideas why please??

You have a bad engine mount.

Your car has rubber engine mountings between the engine and the chassis of the car. They are designed to prevent vibration's from the engine to the car, it sounds like at least one of the mountings has split. The most likely one is the mounting at the rear of the engine, this can be a little tricky to replace as you will need to jack the engine up to get the old one out.
