Why does my internet connection get interrupted when the phone rings?

When im playing Call of Duty 4 the phone rigs and interrupts the game connection.
 
You are using the phone line for your internet connection, very slow.

When the phone rings, it puts a strong signal on the same line and interrupts the data flow.
 
Its possible that your phone and connection are running at the same frequency and the bands get crossed.
