Why does my puppy wet himself when greeted?

I have a 4 month year old puppy, and every time he knows my sister is home or around, he gets overly excited, wets (or sprinkles on) himself. Also, his red christmas light pops out.


What exactly is going on, and how can I get him to stop?

My dog is a year old and was having this problem recently. I was also told to ignore him and only give him attention once he calms down. Since Ive been doing that it has happened less often.

Your puppy just sounds like he hasn't developed his bladder control yet. It's no big deal. He is wetting himself because he is too excited and can't hold his pee. As for the red christmas, again, it's an excited thing. There isn't anything sexual about it though. If you choose to neuter him, that will slowly stop being an issue. As he gets older, the piddles won't happen.

Pottie training the dog is the hardest part. But the dog could be perfectly pottie trained (having lost the desire to pee indoors), but it his bladder isn't strong enough, it's still going to happen as an accident. It will happen in time. As for the red christmas - neuter him.
