I have a 99 F-150, 4.6 V8, 4x4 with 199,300 miles. In the past few months I have put on a new battery, alternator, spark plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, DPFE sensor, upper plentum (spelling may be wrong) gasket, serpentine belt, and other things that aren't engine related. The problem I am having is my truck has power sometimes, but most of the time it does not. It feels like the truck is starving so it shifts out of gear early and really only gets up and goes when the engine passes 2500 rpm's. It doesn't hesitate, chug, or miss, it just feels like I'm dragging a huge parachute. If anyone could offer some help, I would appreciate it. I'm tired of trial and error with this truck....
I have been hearing a lot about exaust restriction. I have dual exaust (not true duals, just cut off muffler, Y piped to the back) and my truck has no mufflers. It does have 4 catalytic convertors that are the stock ones the truck came with. I live in Michigan.
Sorry.... 2 catalytic convertors.
