reluctant to incorporate this means? I understand how baseball can't rely on replay w/ runners on base but when no one's on, why not allow the manger to challenge the call? Also, it would substitute the time it takes for a manager to argue w/ the ump for reviewing the play.
Joey- So baseball is willing to incorporate bad calls when the technology is in place to avoid them and this makes the game more pure? It sounds tainted to me.
Blood letting was state of the art medical practice at one time.

I agree completely with Joey G. His answer basically sums up the reason that Selig hasn't introduced replay on all plays. Personally, I would have the current rules (replays on homeruns only) be in effect during the regular season, and then switch over to full replay in the playoffs. The amount of poor umpiring during this year's and last year's postseason was huge, and sometimes it was so far off it was kind of sad. So I would say give the manager the chance to call for a replay once per game in the postseason, and then keep the current rules in the regular season.

Baseball is considered by many to be an older and therefore purer game. People don't want to ruin the beauty and simplicity of baseball by reverting to the 21st century technology the NFL, NBA, and NHL all use.
