Why does the batteries go dead in my dish network remote so quickly?

could it have short it only takes couple weeks and I got to replace them, probably spent 50 bucks in 1 year Im pist.
What should I do, think they'll compensate me because theyre stuff is junk?
I just got this remote from them new a year ago and it does this already almost the whole year
