Why does the modem installed on my computer by Rogers not work every Sunday?

Every Sunday it seems the modem lights on my computer are not all on anywhere from 45min. to 2 hrs. or so. It's happened at least 5 weeks and I've only had it for roughly 3 months. Nothing has been added or changed since it was installed. Could the modem be defective?

have you called Rodgers? They may doing updates and have picked a time when they thought it be be the least disruptive.
