WHY doesnt detect my Iphone?

I hook it up to my laptop with the USB cable while I have Itunes on and it doesnt show up at all.
Some people say that if u have power save on then your USB ports dont work. But the phone is charging so I know that is not the problem. Soooooo
and a side note this is a new laptop I have and my phone has worked on other laptops.
So if someone has this problem and knows how to fix it.... please help

You probably have an old version of iTunes. To check go to Help > About iTunes on the top.

The latest version is 9.2... so just go to itunes.com and download the latest version of iTunes.

iPhone OS 3.1 requires at least iTunes 9 and OS 3.0 requires at least iTunes 8.

Hope that helped....

Other things can be driver not installed correctly but that's not a very common problem
