Why doesn't my Sony stereo charge my Ipod Touch anymore?

I've had a Sony Hi-Fi Ipod stereo for about 6 months now. It's worked fine with my 3rd generation Ipod touch. Now it won't charge it anymore. It still plays the Ipod perfectly but it doesn't charge it anymore. help!
