Why doesn't Windows Mobile recognize my MicroSD port?

I have an HTC S640 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6 installed. My 4gb microSD card worked perfectly for about 6 months, then one day it randomly stopped working. It looks like windows doesn't even recognize that the port is there..

I've done a hard reset, but the problem continues... Any suggestions?
