Why don't I recall conservatives complaining when Reagan gave a political-charged

address to kids in school? Like he did on November 14, 1988? I was in high school at the time, and nobody pulled their kids out of class claiming Reagan was just like Hitler trying to indoctrinate the young.

Because Regan's speech was not about himself, he did not ask our children what they could do for him...

Big difference,.

you might as well stop trying to figure out Republicans. these people are so illogical, misinformed, and full of hate that they will never use REASON or FACTS to make their decisions or form their opinions. These people are twits, in the lowest meaning of the world. They're so ignorant that they should all be put on an island together so they can breed ignorant kids, and keep their genes away from intelligent Americans like ourselves.

Maybe not (I'm not a Republican), but Democrats screamed bloody murder when Bush I did so in 1991:

Perspective: Dems slammed George H.W. Bush for address to schools
September 4th, 2009 . by Tony

Democrats like Dick Gephardt objected strenuously to President George H.W. Bush addressing students in 1991.

Ah yes, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Let’s look back to 1991 when then President George H.W. Bush spoke to students at Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington, D.C. imploring them to stay away from drugs. That speech was broadcast to schools nationwide after letters were sent to schools around the country encouraging them to allow students to watch.

What was the response at the time? The wonders of the Internet allow us to travel back in time and take a look. News stories from the period show that Democrats were much less than pleased with the speech. Among the complaints, House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt said, “The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students. And the president should be doing more about education than saying, ‘Lights, camera, action.’ “

President Reagan never gave indications of subverting the Constitution or ruining the country like Obama has! And President Reagan's speech was for support of the country, not of himself like the White House posted online.

From what I saw from your link he was talking to one class. It wasn't a national speech to all the kids in school and it was after the 1988 election. Did they (the white house) send out questionnaires asking what their favorite 3 words of the speech were? No. Reagan took questions. Yes it was on C-span but then again so is Congress. Reagan was a soon to be ex-president. Not 7 mos. into his tenure.

Nobody really cares if he's black, Nobody serious anyway. It's his policies. But then again. some people on the left like to cry racist at the drop of a hat. You know who you are.

Reagan didn't have the Dept of Ed hand down curriculum, including asking children to write what they think he wants from them, and how they could serve him.

This one's already been called & Obama was wrong. That's why they changed the message to the importance of education.

They probably complained but not like these people. The thing is I was in the 9th grade when he spoke to us and I don't remember none of it.
So the conservatives shouldn't worry about there kids. They want remember because they want care. Politics are boring to kids.
