the replay is fun, why don't they use it at the french? they want to do it the old fashioned way?

was djoko jobbed by a ref call the other day? djoko was pretty upset, i think replay would have resolved it. do you like how i call him djoko?
i cant imagine that the old fashioned way of looking at the clay is as good as the new tech machine that gives that graphical display of the ball and line.

i call him the "Djoker" :), anyhow, on clay, the ball leaves a mark on the red brick so French Open Officials decide that a player that wants to challenge the call has to show the umpire the ball mark and then the call can be overruled. In all cases usually, the ump will make the exact call due to the ball marking thing. I also think that they have hawk on the main courts? (correct me if i am wrong)

they don't use hawkeye because it isn't needed as much as on other surfaces. on clay the ball leaves much clearer impressions when it hits the floor, so if there is any debate on whether a ball is in or not the players and umpire can see the mark for themselves to clear it up.
not using hawkeye also means that the umpires have to actually do something every once in a while by checking the mark, unlike in most tournaments where they just read out scores and stay in the chair all match and let hawkeye do the work. the fans appreciate it when the umpire checks a mark anyway.

not using the hawkeye system will also save money, which can go on other things in the tournament or whatever.

and yes, after the match djokovic lost, hawkeye showed that his shot was actually in.

:):):)

I'm guessing that the reason why the French Open doesn't use the Hawk Eye thing is because they pretty much don't need it, because the surface of the the court is clay. Therefore the print of the tennis ball can be easily seen.
Another reason is probably cause then it takes the orignality of the use of line judges. It is obviously true that humans can't always make the right calls...such as the umpire'ss call during the yesterday's game that costed Armando Galarraga a perfect pitch game. Some people are afraid that the use of such technology would only cause tons of delays...Such as football
