It just seems that everytime we hear about a celebrity helping out, it always turns out to be somewhere in Africa. Now they have gone so far as to adopt children from there, even when they don't want to leave? What is it with the ethnocentric egoes of Hollywood and America? Do they go hand in hand? Why is Africa singled out? There are plenty of people in our own country that need help. Granted, some of their cases may not be as extreme, but it would definitely benefit society as a whole, if something were done about the homeless, jobless conditions here. And as far as starving children, and dire conditions, there are cases in tons of other third world countries, not just Africa. It's almost as if Africa has become synonymous with charity. I think that this type of one click, one trip, take a snapshot of me holding an African baby in front of a group of kids, routine says a whole lot about the real motivation behind hollywood's latest charity cases.
