Why has everyone lost their sense of humour?

Is it to do with the FREEZING temperatures?
Has every ones brain frozen inside their own skulls... thus no sense of humour?
No one seems to see the funny side any more....

The Reason Why I Think EveryOne Has Lost Their Sense Of Humour Is Because: Of The Econmy And Just Things Not Going Right For People!

Ok Here's How I Look At It:
1. Teens: High Schooler's Are Stressed Out To The Max! Because It's High School There's Never Any Laughter In High School Just Work Work Pressure Work Grades Work Work Parents Work Work And Friends Work Work!
2. Adults: Losing Jobs, Adults Not Being Able To Pay Their Rent!, And Adults Dealing With Family Lives!
3. And All People InGeneral Is Very Stressed Out! Including Me! So This Is Y People Have Lost Thier Sense Of Humour Or Laughter!

I think that's a worthwhile question and it has nothing to do with Winter. I've wondered about it myself for a long while, coming to the conclusion that we live in cynical times, made even more so by the incessant bombardment of "information" from various media and the non-stop movie of images we see daily, on billboards, our TV, the Internet, in magazines and so forth. Desire is being manufactured on our behalf for things we do not want and certainly do not need, and often cannot afford, by people who want us to think otherwise; gossip poses as news and most of the actual news we get is biased in one way or another by the time we receive it. As well, there is the relentless media reminding us of a recession, a war on terror, inane political squabbles which won't matter at at all a week from now but are presented as earth-shaking events. Couple those things with celebrity worship which holds out images of perfect teeth and perfect bodies and beautiful faces most of us will never posses and we seem less worthwhile in comparison. All these things conspire to create a frame of mind in which we feel we are lacking something and in need of something we can't obtain. So, sometimes we get grumpy.

In other words, I think there are a lot of cultural forces at work undermining any real chance we have to be happy. In the end, though, you have to laugh.

I don't think it's the cold. I'll be honest and please don't take this as a personal attack, it's just to inform you since you seem to be curious. I have noticed a lot of your answers get many thumbs down sometimes and I think it's typically because you tend to come off as mean to other people. I have seen you insult people's beliefs and intelligence before. Granted, I'll give it to you that you write it creatively, but creative as it may be, an insult is still an insult and most people won't find a personal attack funny. I'm sure some do, though. I laugh at people's comments all the time, I just had a good chuckle about a question about coffee just a few seconds ago. You gotta remember people like different types of humor too. I prefer the silly kind of humor myself. Everyone is different! I hope this helps.

I left mine under the bed the other night

only to find those pesky mice had had a good chew

on them, I offer them Caviar... & slippers

but every time they want humour...they get fussier each year too...

Just think of all the jokes you could miss out on unless you guard

your sence... just like Rin-Tin-Tin.... ?

Best Wishes.

Well, why don't you yourself cheer us all up with your witticisms and jolly japes, instead of whinging ? Some people. Plus you do realise that for half the planet it is actually SUMMER? Such an egoist.

People take things far too seriously these days. It would be great to see more people with a smile on their face. It would really help things to get better! When people smile at me, I smile and I feel good. It is the most effective anti-depressant out there!
