Why is he distant? He's not interested... right?

This guy is in a school club I am in. He's like the president of the club and he knows my name because he always calls out people's names who signed up for the day. Anyway I think he's really cute.

Once my friend and I were leaving the room and he was in the way with his back to me, so I just tapped his back to let him know we wanted to walk thru and he gave this shy little smile and moved away.

However, this one time when my friend I were leaving the meeting, I just said a friendly bye to him although I've never spoken to him before. After that he's been a little distant from me at the meetings. He doesn't really come close to me altho he is polite if I ask him a question.

He probably has no interest in me right? Just neutral and polite and doesn't want me to get the wrong impression I'm guessing?

Yes,it seems like he doesn't have any feeling for you.He might most probably get used to girls giving him those "unpurposely" or "unintentional" greetings just to attract his attention. He might think you like him.I suggest if you doesn't like him as more than a friend then move on and find other guy
