So I'm 19 years old and am trying to get into the sporting world of firearms. Every time I ask questions it's about anything in gun store or firing range it's always a grumpy old person who answers my questions. I'll admit this is a little bit of a rant but I feel like this is what the community mostly consists of and I want to know what other people think.
An example: I walk into a firearms store looking for shotgun to by as I already own a rifle. I ask the clerk ( after about 10 minutes trying to get his attention) if I can hold a Remington 870. He stares at me and asks if I intend on buying it.... So I tell him yes and he hands it to me. I take a look at it and after about a minute aim the gun at the floor directly under my feet and put my finger in the trigger guard. He immediately grabs the gun away from me and angrily tells me that im not practicing gun safety.... This is the worst experience so far I've had, but believe me when I say I kept running into this same grumpy demeanor amongst the firearms community.
(and no I don't look young for my age)
