Why is it that my lg env touch usb does not sync?

I have an HP laptop 2007 which stays at my job, and it detects when i connect the usb from my verizon lg env touch. When i first connected it, it automatically installed the software. Now i have a desktop computer and it does not detect it at all. Do I still need a software for it for the desktop? Or is there a way i can work around buying that? Please help.

So it works fine on laptop and is retarded on desltop.. right ?

-Most of USBs are Plug and Play. What is yours ? Plug and play means installation is not required and OS detects the USBs right after you put in there! If it is not plug and play, put the installation CD in CD-ROM and do the install steps.
-It is highly recommended to do not plug USBs to front ports.. Try back ports instead.
