...ringing, rejoicing, churches ...? .... flowing white dresses and happy faces but when someone mentions two guys who love each other the default, knee-jerk reaction is to insult them with comments about anal sex?

I have five siblings (all married) and hundreds of friends who have married and when I got the wedding invitations I never once conjured up a mental image of what they may (or may not) do in bed

Trev - what are you living in? the 1940's?? Nobody thinks like that about marriage except immature little girls and gay guys.

If gay's (or hetero couples) want to have anal sex that's their business...doesn't make it any less of a disgusting and physically dangerous act, tho.

Because everyone expects you to get married if you fall in love thats why they say the "Church Bell" thing.

I don't have the feelings you listed about a man and woman falling in love. I also don't have the feelings you listed about two guys who fall in love. I think that many people think that when 2 guys fall in love, it's all about sex...when it's probably not. The 2 guys happen to love each other, and in many cases a sex act (no matter which act is is) is a display of those feelings of love toward another. Hope that makes sense to you.
