Ever since Upton Sinclair published 'The Jungle', food companies are legally required to post every single ingredient and allergy information. Even if that information is painfully obvious!
Clearly some people are. It's to stop them being sued.
If it's printed on something that isn't supposed to be peanuty then it's because they probably use nuts in another part of the factory.
