my cat oliver he is kinda old. Since yesterday he has been acting normal except somtimes he just screams for no reason. Like I will be in the back, and he will be in the kitchen and Ill hear this meowing and Ill go out there and talk to him and he will run up to be and purrr and just act normal...what is going on, I have had him all my life! He has NEVER done this, he isnt very vocal in the first place eaither?
about a month ago I had a comeplete check up for him because he hadd a cold, he is in perfect health

I have tears in my eyes when I write this.
Often a cat who has loved you much and long, wants you to know the time is near. They so often know it.
Spend as much time as you can with him for as long as it takes.

Later go to www.petloss.com

Take him in for a geriatric vet exam to rule out any health problems. This is a good idea annually for older cats. Also some cats tend to get very vocal when they develop hearing loss or senility as they age.

nobody can answer this question based on the little information you have given, your best bet is to take him to the vet to get checked out, especially if he is old.but be prepared for bad news, just in case.

Is he old enough to be getting a little senile or possibly blind? It sounds like he is crying because he is lost and when you go to him he calms down. I think I would make an appointment with the vet just to get him checked out. It could be almost anything, he could be in pain. No sense taking chances. Good luck.

Check his eyes...he could be going blind. He cries when he thinks he is alone and in the dark...he knows this isn't normal. It scares him so he cries...you come to his rescue, he feels better.

I'd suspect his hearing. Do his ears move? He could be loosing his sense of hearing somewhat.
