why is my ford fusion making a "ticking noise"?

my ford fusion is making a "ticking" noise and i cant figure out where its coming from or anything. i did a little research and found out that this is very common on the v6 model however mine is a 4 cylinder. anyone got any ideas?
its coming from the engine, it used to be only when i accelerated but now its just kinda always there and the ticking speeds up when i do hit the throttle
 
not enough information.. if it is coming from the the motor then try putting in a better fuel grade if it is when you turn your CV joints are bad.. and the list could go on and on
