why is my laptop slower after ive installed norton internet security..?

i've had to restore my laptop to its factory settings a few times after after re-installing norton internet security back on it it slows down

i have a 160 GB hard drive with about 90GB free so it shouldnt be a memory issue.
oh rightt... id didnt affect the speed when i first got it so i guessed it was something else =/

Norton will do that. It takes up tons of RAM. Try another antivirus program. AVG and Avast are free and not as memory intensive.

Its got nothing to do with HDD space,

Its because Norton Antivirus, takes up and uses a lot of memory (RAM).
It also uses up a lot of processing power from background applications.

Try using Mcafee.
