Why is Oblivion (XBox 360) so hard?

Yeah I bought this game for $30, because I liked Morrowind. I tried about 7 times to get past the first Oblivion opening the first gate quest. I kept dying when like 4 guys attacked me. I don't get how ANYONE could do it. I sold it back for $30. Screw that game.

You should do the thieves guild and dark brotherhood first then fighters guild and mages guild with a few side quests thrown in along the way before you try closing the gates .
