why is "Spirited Away" so critically acclaimed?

The story line was mediocre, the character of "No Face" was useless and only served as a way to forward the already mediocre plot line, the animation was average and the whole movie as a whole was boring. I know it might sound as if I'm raving on about it, but seriously, I've tried liking it as much as I can but it barely tickles my interest and I'm usually a big anime fan.
